So … a guy from the city… The Big City … [ya gotta say it in the most stereotypical mob-boss, “New Yahk” fashion you can imagine] Representin’, you know — Everything that such a background and backstory invokes (think “wine, women, and song” as they say … you know, wink wink supposed Playboy-celebrity pussy-grabber-style) … He’s been known his whole life as a “developer,” with some degree of success, and some (I’m frankly too tired to research the intended links here, it’s exhausting!) failures, okay, lots of failures, (casino, TrumpU, Liquor links). Lots of screwing over the people working for him and his companies, too …
Okay, then one day… The guy gets elected president. Um… But it’s the residents of the vast red swaths of our country, the mostly wide open (rural and historically lawless?) areas of the country – not the cities his “developer” background represents … That’s what puts him in office? (Now you see why I named this post after that frikkin’ red and blue map that thinks land-mass somehow votes! — and that the right-wing media, especially, LOVES to show us) …
THAT’s where he dominates the vote.

The urban areas?
Do you mean the places where people actually live?
Do you mean the places where you need more laws and rules (coz there’s lots ‘n’ lots of people who want to live together in a healthy, viable, enveloping community? Because, you know, that’s where the jobs are, and life- and community-supporting things — like transit and shops and theaters and ballparks and libraries and restaurants and nightclubs are — AND, that’s where they choose to live) … The places where there are real and true levels of empathy and comity (I’m sure some of this exists in rural areas, too, but I KNOW it’s there in the cities I’ve lived in and around) … The places that embrace and choose to show unyielding patience and overflowing compassion?
Those places?
Those are the places where “the developer” gets killed in the vote.
As the younger among us so aptly say, WTF???!!!
What … daFuq … IS … UP WITH THAT? What’s the psychology? What’s the compelling motive?
What is it about that group of people living among us (not him) who think, “Yes, it’s time to follow — lockstep and bended knee follow — the whims, impulses, delusional dreams (The Gulf of Mexico BS? Greenland? Panama?), and narcissistic tendencies (if not a fully and publicly diagnosed narcisstic personality disorder), of a seriously messed up, orange-hued human being?”
Hollywood couldn’t cast it or imagineer it any better… PT Barnum couldn’t have identified our country’s “communal” issue any clearer!
As I write this, I know I have family, and friends, and acquaintances (and annoying neighbors that I’m sorry I can’t classify as either of those) who thought, “Hmmm, let’s give this blowhard a shot, what’s the worst that could happen?” … I also know that I have relatives (and neighbors) who think everything the guy touches turns to gold, too. (He sure seems to have surrounded himself with those folks, hasn’t he?) Well, just look at what your vote got us into.
Personally, I fail to see ANY redeemable qualities in the guy. Certainly nothing worth betting our collective lives on.
Unlike Kid Rock and Bill Maher, who think he’s funny, I wholeheartedly and committedly believe he is not. He behaves and acts and spouts shit no parent I know of wants coming from their offspring. In fact, he embodies the opposite of those qualities.
He laughs at handicapped people. He speaks like an eighth-grade bully-wannabe. He insults everyone! — Especially if someone EVER had the temerity to disagree with him. Oh, that is, unless that person bends over, or bends backward, or lets him have a feel (hey, with that guy, who knows?), or, otherwise follow his temptations to the corrupt side.
Not to mention… His well-documented history shows that he is exceptionally greedy, egotistical, unethical (and not in the provocative “good trouble” kind of way), hypocritical, hyperbolic, and probably every “-thic” there is – including sociopathic.
The man has been credibly called “Don the Con” (by his former press secretary and attorney).
As a tried and convicted Felon, he is lucky he isn’t in jail as he most likely should be (and hopefully someday WILL be).
But … Well, I guess that’s just my opinion.
If only there was a red-blue map that shows us how the vote went where people, like, actually live, sigh…
